Biography

Rouzan Gevorkian is a classically trained pianist who shares her talent as a mentor and pedagogue with students of all ages and levels, including Conservatory students. Her main goals include making music a lifelong, enjoyable learning experience, providing strong fundamentals and techniques, and crafting a unique, high quality plan for each student’s musical journey. There is no one-size-fits-all method of piano instruction. With Rouzan’s 30 plus year history as a piano instructor to children and adults, she believes in taking an individualized approach in catering to each of her student’s musical needs, with a focus on building students’ confidence in their ability to perform with expression, comfortability, and freedom.

Rouzan is the owner of Rouzan’s Music Studio located in Glendale, California. She is a professional musician with over 30 years of experience. Rouzan graduated from Komitas State Conservatory, Yerevan, Armenia, where she studied with renowned performers and pedagogues, whom some are currently performing around the world. She received a Master of Music as a Chamber Orchestra Soloist, Pianist, Accompanist and Teacher. Rouzan’s achievements include being a member of The Music Teachers National Association of America and member of the American Guild of Organists in California. She is currently the organist and music director at St. Garabed Armenian Church in Rancho Mirage, CA.

Rouzan currently shares her talent as a pedagogue and a mentor with students of different ages, focusing on the achievement of their goals. Students participate in various recitals and competitions. Performing on the stage helps build self-confidence which aids in the students’ personal development. Students also are able to participate in various programs which cover technique, ear training, site reading and written theory for each level.

She strongly believes that through music students receive not only knowledge in playing an instrument, but also learn discipline of the mind and capability in themselves.
